This is my 2nd tripod. My first was a Vanguard traveler that I purchased for my Cannon S1000 Point-and-shoot. It was an extremely small tripod (16"-54") that worked out ideal for the PandS but was totally useless after I got a Rule Digital Rebel XSi DSLR. Whilst the Vanguard when I acquired the Landscape Explorer, for approximately the same cost that is. Its been about six months today using the Landscape.
Pros:
one. Really affordable given characteristics and fat score. Was truly amazed with its quality and characteristics after I obtained it, provided the cost.
2. Retains the Xsi extremely safely at most of the of the orientations, levels and tip angles. I've just the beginner lens (18 - 55mm) on it and . accessories no. I am not certain how it might manage with heavier lenses, but I guess it should do good with the majority of the conventional types.
three. Has fairly easy spinning, tilting and elevation adjusting, with locks abound.
4. The toes extensions have kept very safely so much, that is a lot more than I could state for the umbrella type extensions on the Vanguard.
5. 60$1 is really a really great elevation for most reasons, and makes a planet of difference in the 54" on my prior tripod.
6. Has integrated spirit levels that have proved quite helpful for ensuring level arrangement.
seven. All the changes and tresses are simple and fast. Requires significantly less than 2 minutes normally from tote to completely set-up.
8. Really light-weight, although hardy.
9. Includes an extremely handy carrying handle built-in.
10. Includes a catch for fat connection. I had been intending to tie a tote full of mud to it when taking photos in the seashore, but ended up lacking to because it appeared to keep up for the wind rather nicely actually without it.
11. Has a tote. The Vanguard's carrier was far better quality, but this one does just great.

Disadvantages:
one. The Vanguard readily squeeze into my back pack while traveling. That is also high to squeeze into a cabin tote.
2. The screw secure for that sideways tilt doesn't very engage the tilt yet restricted I screw it.
three. Tip and rotator changes are sleek enough for realignment reasons, although nearly smooth enough for video panning. But videos are hardly ever shot by me anyhow.
